Sneak peek at upcoming blog posting, “Cheer Up, Charlie”

Find Your Life Purpose and Inspirationcheerup_charlie

With all of the distractions in life, discovering your purpose is not an easy task. Finding what inspires you to live beyond yourself and your family may take years or decades, but once you find it, never let it go. Dream bigger and take actions to make a difference in this world through your work.

My childhood inspiration for wanting to end the so-called “War on Drugs” was the movie, “Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory”. Throughout the movie, thoughts of peace flashed before my eyes, and my mind was illuminated with ideas on how to make this dream a reality. I wasn’t sure on how it was going to happen, but when it did, I knew that there would be a world revelation. This became my brainchild behind the dream to end the inhumane drug war.

Reese'sNever lose sight of your dream

You are going to fail at some point in your life. It’s how you react to failure that determines if and how you will succeed. Dwelling on mistakes or rejections will only lower your confidence level and reduce your chances of future success. Learn from your mistakes, and always remember that many famous people were rejected during their lifetime before making it big. For instance, Walt Disney was told he “lacked imagination and had no good ideas” by the editor of Kansas City Star in 1919, who fired him. JK Rowling was fired for writing stories on her work computer all day long at the London office of Amnesty International, and Madonna didn’t last a day serving donuts in New York City after squirting jelly filling all over a customer.

Instead of focusing on being rejected, these people continued to chase after their dream. They stayed fixed on their future goals with a strong will to succeed. Michael Jordan, who was cut from his high school basketball team, once said, “I have missed over 9,000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot, and I have missed. I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
